The studio went really well last night. We did the impossible, and got an entire song tracked within 4 hours. Nevermind that it is a really really short song, we are pleased. We went to the old Tallcat studio got to work quick.

It was starting to rain and Floyd and Dave were stuck in traffic, so they were a little late. Andy smoked cigarettes at the incredible rate of 40 per minute, and I ran around like a jerk like usual and flipped about about everything for no reason at all. HB did the tracking for the evening. Rez(co-produced Salazar Brothers) was nowhere to be found. He just got a PSP and no human will probably see him for months to come. It was presumed he was at the new Tallcat studio painting or something, but we all know he was playing videogames in some dark filthy corner.

I took two pictures from the studio. Andy playing drums, and Floyd sleeping on the floor, HARD. Andy was doing levels right next to his head and he didn't even move. I thought for a minute that he was probably dead, as unlikely as that was, since that is the only way that a human being can withstand something like that. Even if he was faking it a normal person would at least flinch when a kick drum goes off feet from your face. I respect Floyd's sleeping abilities a lot.

I forgot that my camera phone is set to bullshit mode so the pictures are really small/stupid. I tried to photoshop them so you can at least see what is going on, but you probably can't see shit. I also blew them up a lot bigger so you can hope for the future. They are red for some reason unknown to man.

Here is Andy getting ready to get ready to play drums in small pixelated format:

Here is Floyd sleeping on the floor with drums going off like crazy 4 feet to the left of him in pixelated crappy format:

I had a better camera with real film in it in the car, but I was lazy and didn't want to go get it. It was also raining a little bit but that is no excuse. Moments later we went outside to look at the bullet holes in the side of the house. Recording fast rock and roll songs in a house with bullet holes in it makes us more important and worthy of an article in a magazine such as the new times or rolling stone magazine (in two years, chill out). Dave was also drinking a lot of milk which almost took a shit on the entire session. The Salazar Brothers liner note remark is not at all a joke to anyone who has worked with us.

Then we discussed plans with HB to hurry and get this song in the mail in time for the deadline (August 1st). Even from the short amount of time in there, it had a very different feel than the production of the album. I hope the frantic vibrations and wet stench of the evening translate into the song so when you listen to it you feel sick to your stomach and need to throw up. I hope you throw up every time you listen to it.

Lots and lots of pictures from Friday night have been sent in, thanks to Jason Stetz, Rob Danford (and Strom for operating the computer). They are all posted in the photo gallery.

So now we have a little while... well, you do anyway. The next show September 10, at The Sets in Tempe, Arizona. I have to put 'Arizona' after things now because we are getting a lot of new people from out of state that are interested in all our stuff... I'll get all the details up soon. I do know that the show is ALL AGES, despite what you may have heard about the place (thanks to some fast talking from Briggs from Heroes for Ghosts), we are playing with Heroes for Ghosts, and two bands visiting from Seattle; Rishloo and Esitu. Fancy names come from the rainy places.

On Tuesday we will be back in the studio getting a song together for the azpunk.com comp v.4. I like to keep secrets, so I won't tell you which song it is... but I will hint that it MAY have something to do with a non-deluxe zebra who MAY be locked in combat with "the rat of the skies", and it MAY be the first of several installments which MAY not yet have occurred of this event happening, and we MAY have played it in the set on Friday night. I haven't talked to the other guys yet, but I think the song will be accessible only on the comp, and online as an mp3 if you find THE SECRET in the cd artwork of Salazar Brothers. You'll know it when you see it, and what to do.

Any street team members up for a special assignment? Email me please.

Also, send any pictures of yourself wearing one of the new t-shirts and we will put it up on here so you can show all of your friends and say 'hey thats me WOAH look dude thats awesome'. School is starting soon, so don't fuck around.

Holy shit this was a long time ago:

Please send all recordings and photos tooooo: band@risingconviction.com and thank you

I would just like to say that the vibe in Chaser's last night was amazing. There may not have been a million people there, but I wouldn't have traded the energy last night for any number. I really felt great the whole night. All of the bands did Fucking Nice and there was a wide variety of music. That show was in memory of Spencer Lofland. It was also dedicated to Katie. Thank you all for having the drive of a bison.

Tomorrow is the big show at Chasers. My copy and paste fingers hurt from stating it so much, but here it goes one more time just in case the attempts have resulted in failure:

ALL AGES $7 if you're -21, $5 if you're +21 CHASERS is on Hayden and Roosevelt in Scottsdale If you get lost or need information, call 480-694-3020 or 480-227-6202. This is our last show until SEPTEMBER so if you don't go you will be hurting inside later, HARD.

Rising Conviction is a strong believer in big letters. When something is in big letters it means it is important.

This is Katie. She helps promote us on myspace. In the last week I have seen MANY bulletins on myspace from her about our CD, the upcoming show, and to add us as friends. Thank you very much Katie, we really appreciate it.

Several things to do:

If you have myspace, please do us a favor and post this code into a bulletin.

If you are sick of radio, download the new version of iTunes and subscribe to some podcasts. Before you do that though, you may want to learn about what podcasting is.

If you have a myspace.com account, go to the Rising Conviction myspace page and add us.

Email the edge or call them at 480-260-1039 and tell them that you want to hear Badger on local frequency.

Order some tickets for the July 22nd show, and we will come deliver them to you.

If you read any music magazines, newspapers, websites, or anything that keeps tabs on indie music and writes reviews, tell us about them so we can get them a copy of Salazar Brothers.

Visit the websites of some of our close friends. Nila,Heroes for Ghosts, Juicy Newt, Soul Clown,Ethnic De Generation, and lots of others...

Get involved in your scene.

Say hello.

Katie drew us a picture.

Tom emailed us more photos from the July 2nd show.

In other shit... planning has begun for PAPPAS Music Festical III... detailsto be announced soon. Just know now that this show will NOT be held at Alice Coopers Shithole.

We have also finished the details on some digital distribution for Salazar Brothers. That means that you will soon be able to listen to and buy digital versions of individual songs from Salazar Brothers (or the entire album of course) from online stores such as iTunes, MSN Music, MusicMatch, Napster, Sony Connect and many, many more. Get ahead of things and get iTunes for free if you don't have it already, and NO you do NOT need to have an iPod to use iTunes... more on this later.

Today I am off to pick up some live audio from the CD Release show... this may turn into a future release. We will see how things go.
