Innappropriate Attire For Saturday's Show

So we have a show coming in a little more than a week. Next Saturday at The Mason Jar in Phoenix (23rd street and indian school). This show is going to be a rather large event, with our old friends Nila and Poetic Anxiety, and 32 Leaves... which has been making waves in the scene for awhile now, but have not yet been on a bill with Rising Conviction.

Here's the flyer in case you didn't see it really huge on the front page for some reason.

We finished up the initial work on a NEW SONG last night... meaning that we finally put all of the small parts together for the first big run through, and it is very exciting. The newest song darts in a very different direction for Rising Conviction. You'll probably be hearing it for the first time November 18th, at the second annual PAPPAS MUSIC FESTIVAL. So everyone get this in your heads right now... TAKE OFF YOUR HEADSET AND GO... You will be chanting this in your sleep for weeks once you hear it. Trust me. Might as well start doing it now so you get get a good headstart on those other kids at that particular show.

We are compiling a press release distribution list, so if you have any music publications of any kind (web, print, little zines, etc.) let us know what they are so we can make sure to get them on the list. This will help make Rising Conviction a common name in town, and maybe get our names in a paper somewhere so that we can feel cool and high five eachother a lot during practice time.

It has also been noticed, while editing photographs sent in to us of the last show, that none other than The Devil was in the crowd that night. I had to do some major CSI style photo enhancements, but it is clear that The Devil had been attendance that evening, and apparently has a Rising Conviction T-shirt.

IMPORTANT NEWS: It seems that Floyd makes devil horn signs with his hands even when photographs are completely candid. Mysterious. Perhaps it is because I am apparently screaming at him. Science may never know.

More changes on the site... there is now a lot less stuff on the left side over there. We've moved it to a new location, so that there is room for information that you need to know right away. This will fill up over time... you'll see. Much more useful this way.

We've also added a link to our Myspace.com profile. If you use that thing, go add us as your friend and maybe shoot out a bulletin or two about Rising Conviction. We'd love you for it.

There have been a ton of updates on the site, most of which are just look and feel. We've outgrown that simple cliche' black and red theme that we've worn from the start, and feel that this is a much more appropriate look for our current style and the music that we are writing together.

Tonight we are meeting with some other bands, including Keddah and Nila to discuss the details of the upcoming PAPPAS II FEST, November 13th at Cooperstown. Keddah has donated some server space towards an official information site for the event.

In addition, pictures were added to the gallery from last Saturday night, thanks to Staci Shultis.

Saturday was great. Thanks so much to all of you who came out. Our crowd was the loudest and had the most energy of any group the entire evening. We know it was late, and not all that long, but we hope that you had nearly as much fun as we did.

We got some pictures back from Gail from that night... so if anyone has any other pictures or reviews, email them to us and we will put them on the site.

Due to the success of a few new ideas this last show, which resulted in our best attendance figures ever (thanks so much Sadie, Lori, & Rob), we will be starting an official street team for Rising Conviction. We have some pretty good ideas to help make it a success and start really making these events huge, and if you have any others, please let us know. We will bring out the details when they're there.
