Get your tickets in advance right here.![]() It also looks like we will be announcing a date for the Salazar Brothers CD Release Party quite soon. We still have a few meetings to go to here and there to hammer out the details, but it will be soon, and it will be big. Yes, it has taken a very long time to do this album. People have been asking me for a reason for its taking so damn long, but honestly... its just because there has been no real reason to rush through something so important as your a first album. We first began pre-production for Salazar Brothers a year and a half ago, and at the time you can find it in stores it will be nearly two years. Yes, quite a long time for just one album, but with no record label breathing down our necks, we have no real deadlines except for simply "when we are ready". We used that time to the fullest. Throughout the recording process, we were deconstructing and reworking every song from new angles, and worked with Rez and AZBay to keep an open and creative environment. That means that a lot of what you are going to hear on Salazar Brothers is a truly original performance that often was born on that take alone. With the exception of only one or two places where it was important to maintain history, every guitar lead that I did on the album was impromptu, based upon things touched on in the last 3 years of live performances. We were careful not to draw borders around the tracking, and always tried new things. Dave spans an amazing range of styles within the 15 tracks (may not be the final number) of Salazar Brothers, many of which were created in-studio... bringing home some old themes and new directions. You'll hear what I mean soon enough. So does this mean it's going to take another 2 years to get to the second CD? Below is your answer. ![]() Sandwich photo by Natalie |
