Something else even.

Last night was something.

Whats up everybody? I am back again with another edition of behind the kit. First of all I wanted to say thanks to all of you who came out to our show last night. It was, how can I put this, interesting, and I will leave it at that. But just having the chance to play for all of you die hard Convicts made it well worth it. We are getting ready for our next show which is this coming Friday at Minder Binders. I hope everyone can make it out. We are working on some cool shit for all of you. Who knows, if everything goes to plan, you may just hear yourself on one of our CD's. But only if you SCREAM. I am going to take advantage of the precious free time I have and do some major surgical repairs on the kit. I have to get her ready for the next show. Anyway, I will see you all very soon, and until then kepp on rockin. Late....

Hey just signing in to let everyone know what a great time we had at the show SAT. Zara is a fucking awesome band...very intense and full of sexy. Dependancy was beautiful as usual. Rising Conviction was dirty and ugly like we like it. Anger Trade scared the poop out of me...very tough and manly music. and BLDG 5 was smoking... I don't know if it was all the water I was drinking or the fact that girls were taking off their shirts on stage and indulging in their primal urges BUT I will tell you they are not a band to miss! Back to the studio tomorrow! Pick up tickets for the show in Fountain Hills! TICKETS -- and receive free tickets to see a band known as Keddah...THEY ROCK...and we will also be playing that night. Email us we got your Junk Rock right here BABY!

We have some tickets left for the show on march 27, at the starlight room, 16737 e. parkview ave. They're 9 bones a piece, we know, little pricey. let us know where you're at and we'll make sure you get them.

band@risingconviction.com

But wait there's more...Bryan says if you buy a ticket for the show on march 27th he'll throw in two tickets to our show on april 9th, Keddah's cd release show. two RC shows for the price of 1 1/4.

Big weekend for Rising Conviction. For the second week in a row, SHUDDER was featured in the local spotlight on Red Radio Underground on 98KUPD. Welcome to any of you guys who may have come to this site from hearing us on the show... we've gotten some of your emails and we thank you for the kind words and look forward to having a beer at a future show.

If you have a second, please EMAIL LARRY MAC AT 98 KUPD and request to hear SHUDDER next Sunday on Red Radio Underground, or call next Sunday at (602) 260-9800 and ask to hear Rising Conviction.

Last night Floyd and I spent a few hours in the studio with Dave and Dave working on vocals for Salazar Brothers. It's starting to get down to the details, and making sure that every little sound is where we want it and feels right... its pretty cool to see it all come together after almost a years worth of work. In tearing apart everything and reconstructing it note for note, we've become better at what we do.

There seems to be a lot more talking these days between us... about topics that are not so trivial. We say the same thing in different ways and the work is in realizing that. It is our fortune that we can think as one, and only the words get in the way. If you ask me, anything from the heart and mind that is worth being brought to fruition would stumble in the translation. Ideas come from people in fragments... the small parts that words can carry. I am glad that there are four of us to put the pieces together so we can show you the whole. Our constant change is pure in process and organic in form, and thats the only way that we know how to be.

Back in the studio tonight, and again for the month and a half. It's getting closer.

The radio edit version of SHUDDER is with our Mastering house getting shined up before going back to Larry Mac at KUPD as requested after last Sunday's airing of the original. We need your help this Sunday. We need you to call and email Larry Mac at the station and ask that he play Rising Conviction on Red Radio Underground again this weekend.

KUPD Contact Form (Choose Larry Mac in the selection box)

The show starts this Sunday at 7pm, so call in at 602-260-9800
and request to hear SHUDDER from Rising Conviction. Let them know what you think.

i think a lot of things happen by chance. all four of us moved to phoenix for one reason or another and all by chance we met and became a band. all kinds of bands come and go but we were lucky enough to find a group of guys that had chemistry. its kind of strange too, three of us went to the same school but, at least me anyways, didn't meet through school... tonight our buddy sonny, just by chance, turned on the radio and heard them introducing our song shudder, he called up and was like "dude you're on 98." hearing our song on the radio is crazy. i used to want to hear our music on the radio, then at one point or another i realized that i didn't care if we ever got any radio time, but hearing us on the radio, i guess it was kind of gratifying. it kind of gave me hope that we have a chance to make it. whether we make it or not is yet to be seen but being able to hang out with three of my best friends and try is pretty damned fun.

horse log was definitely a spectical. I Hate You when YOUR Pregnant was awesome!!!!! One of The best shows I've seen yet by the Young gentle MAN. Crack Money Records - beautiful elegant suave debonair. Psycho SSTTIICCKK very psycho! Calabrese I heard from back stage and they sounded swell. Miss Betty Simon and the syrup chords was definitely a thing. Chantold you once and told you twice is the description of sex. spendlor

this weekend was fun. i would like to thank everyone that joined us on friday night for the first ever rising conviction weight watchers club. i alone sweated off 4 pounds in the r.c. oven. saturday night was fun as well. i don't think anyone wants to wait for the next horse cock reunion tour. betty simon was a good time too, i want to thank dave, cheyral from bldg 5, and especially greg for covering my ass after breaking a string on the second song, oh and i would like thank amy for all the good luck she brought me, i'm never going to wash my face again. but most of all i would like the wish chantal a very happy birthday. she is a kick ass person and there should be more people out there like her. alright...untill next time.

Lots of fun these last couple of days, but now I am tired and have the shakes. I have HORSECOCK written on my arm with marker that doesn't seem to come off even with a green scratchy pad from the kitchen. Looks like I'll be sporting it around town for a few days.

Friday night was really fun. Got to our little rehearsal room and started playing at about 9ishsish for a few people that were there... just kinda making stuff up, but it was already way to hot to be all that creative, so we stopped that. As more people showed up, the hotter and hotter it got. By 10:30 there were maybe 10-15 of our good friends hanging out in the tiny room with us, and we sweated our asses off. The whole time. We drank a lot too... by 12:30 we and everyone else had had enough of that oven shit, and we were too drunk to continue playing. Then it was off to my house to continue the mess until 5am.

The next night was really fun too. It was Chantal's official birthday show... and unable to add Rising Conviction to the bill... we did what we could to get the place at 75% RC Level. HORSECOCK opened up, and BETTY SIMON AND THE SYRUP LOGS ended it. Pictures soon, if I ever get the fucking picture gallery thingie done.

The next show, as you saw on the way in, is March 20th at Chasers in Scottsdale. This one is 21+ only (sorry), and should be lots of fun. ZARA, DEPENDENCY, THE ANGERTRADE, BLDG5 & RISING CONVICTION. Rock and roll for everyone.

Whoops... I didn't mention WHERE the show on Saturday is in the last post... It's at The Clubhouse, right next to HorseAndHound. The show starts at 8 with um... shit I can't say. Just go you'll fucking hate love it.

Last night we finished structure work on the new song... holy shit its good. Andy's hands bleed a lot everytime and its fun to throw fireworks at him in the pad. Hahaha. He loves it so much. I just hope that they turn on the AC in that place before it gets any hotter in there. Every day we just sweat and smell bad and I turn into an asshole.

Tonight is the fun fun party! email us if you want information!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi fellows and fillets. This weekend theres a lot of conviction in this town. I hope you have some and someone to share it with.

There's going to be a little get-to-gether type thingie on Friday night in a location that I'm not going to send out in this newsletter for a few reasons, but its in Tempe... so if you are interested in coming, email us at band@risingconviction.com for the details and directions. It is our pal Chantal's birthday so we're going to drink a lot of beers and play for a ridiculously long time... maybe we can get some of our neighbors to participate as well. We will eventually get drunk and start to suck, but not dave because hes a trooper.

Saturday night is more Chantal fun. Opening the show is a SECRET PROJECT which may or not involve members from Rising Conviction. Then its CRACK MONEY RECORDS, PSYCHOSTICK, CALABRESE & I HATE YOU WHEN YOURE PREGNANT!!!! No Rising Conviction on this show, however... but you don't want to miss Dave and Floyd's new project... as they close the show BETTY SIMON AND THE SYRUP LOGS. The first band goes on at 8pm. come out becuase it would make us all feel special and nice... and because its Chantals'; birthday party of course. 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM 8PM

The album is coming along..I am very pleased with the outcome so far. It's hard for me to pick a favorite song. There is so much diversity in our music now. We seem to grow closer as a band and friends as we progress musically. Even songs that we have written 3 years ago have been reworked and restructured into some of the most beautiful creations I have seen in my days. I am very happy where we are. It is a pleasure to work with these swell chaps. And it is a pleasure to preform for you. We don't claim to be the best thing that you will ever hear We just claim to give you something fully enjoyable and new and at points sexy (floyd) . It is good to break away from the generics of today. There is nothing more moving than a piece of art. I just hope you enjoy our sound as much as I do. I have many favorite bands. I live for this band

Dave and Rez spent the day in the studio working on Ultrasharpe... I hear it sounds great. All is coming along well.

Also, SHUDDER is slowly but surely gaining in the charts at Soundclick.com. If you have a moment, check out the Rising Conviction page on Soundclick.com and vote for the songs to help us get up there.

New stuff in the forums as well.

Also, Copenhagen The Founders is a GOOSE, not a duck. Please do not make this mistake. It makes Floyd cry.

Party this weekend... if you're interested in coming, email me and ill help with directions or details or whatever. Lots of beer and fucking around. No violence until after 11pm please.

we may start the trend again and again we leave it up to you to finish it.

It was a good weekend off for us before everything starts up again with Practice tomorrow. We have a lot of writing to do, and preparation for shit this weekend. There's a lot of beer that needs to be had... and let us know if you're interested in the party this Friday night at our rehearsal space.

Check out the updated shows page, where I've put up all of the information that we have at the moment about our live events for the rest of the spring.

Sonny also put up some awesome pictures from the show at the Big Fish Pub last week. LOOK AT THEM. Sonny is awesome.

Look at that Flea Rod go.

Practice yesterday was enjoyable. It's seems like the birth of a new creation is on it's way. I hope it's a boy! We are still waiting to finish the album. It seems to be crawling along at a slow pace, but the finished product will be DOPE! Rock Rock Rock Rock and Roll Doosh Pump!

Ya I agree with Dave, yesterday's practice was awesome. This new song we're working on has action all over and there's no way you won't be shoving the kid next to you when you hear it for the first time in a few weeks.

Last night after practice I had it in my head and it was pissing me off because practice was over already, so I extracted all of the audio from the entire show that we just played on February 13th at the Mason Jar! It sounds awesome, and its the first and only recording of both Kinetic and the Report and For Your Son (the "HEY" song to most of you).... as well as the album version of A War of Ghosts. Go check it out:

Rising Conviction Audio

Here comes the weekend. No shows here, but a good chance to do some other bits of the work that we need to do... mostly burning and distributing more copies of the Salazar Brothers promotion disk. Again, if you want one or want to hand some to some people who you know like the rock and roll, please email us and we will bring some to you so you can help the effort.

March 20th is only two weeks away!

Blah. Practice comes too slowly today. Sonny put up some pictures from last Friday's show at The Big Fish Pub on the forums for all to see. Pretty good pictures. Sonny is awesome.

Speaking of pictures, a lot of them are down at the moment... mostly because they're really old now that I look at them, and we have so many other good ones to put up. New gallery coming up soon.... soon as I get the time.

Last night we had practice and it was really good. We have a bit of time before the next show (March 20th at Chasers), so we are writing some new material. It's some really great stuff that really showcases what we've been trying to get to in finding our own style. A lot of complexity... a lot of speed, but still tangible. No lightning background anywhere.

So we're handing out CDs everywhere all the time now. If you need some to hand out to friends or schoolmates or fuckers at the bus stop or whatever, let us know and we will give you a bunch of them to do just that. We rely on your words to help get us exposure, so if you're into it tell a friend or some shit. My poor CD burner is getting is ass kicked making so many of them. What the hell else would it be used for. Salazar Brothers Preview for every kid in town.

Just a reminder... we have videos videos videos for all kids on our site now. If you haven't seen us yet this is a good place to start. Check out the extra sparshell version of Middle of the End for a happy good time feeling in the pants.

Time for practice.
